CAA takes six tonnes of sugar taken into custody

The Consumer Affairs Authority said that more than six tonnes of sugar have been taken into custody in a raid conducted in Pettah.

The sugar which was taken into custody has been packetted to be sold at a price higher than the controlled price of Rs. 100 per kilogramme.

According to the CAA, the sugar taken into custody was to be sold at prices ranging from Rs. 125.00 to Rs. 138.00.
