Prime Minister says COPE and audit reports handed over to AG

Speaking at an event held at the UNP Headquarters, Sirikotha on November 2, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said action will be taken regarding the Treasury bond issue following advice from the Attorney General on the report compiled by the Committee on Public Enterprise.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that he could’ve appointed someone from the United National Party as the Chairman of COPE but at that instance the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna requested the Chairmanship of COPE.

He added that Sunil Handunnetti was appointed as Chairman, and told the Attorney General that if he needs more documents and if they are in Parliament to please meet with the Speaker when he returns next week, and find what he needs.
