A facility which stored illicit liquor in Kuttiyawatte, Baddegama was raided by the Baddegama police on Tuesday. The raid was conducted by the Baddegama Police following a tip-off.
A 24-year-old resident of Kuttiyawatte has been arrested in connection with the illegal liquor trade. The suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Baddegama Magistrate court on Wednesday.
Three cylinders of gas, one keg and 480 bottles as well as 40 kilogrammes of sugar and other equipment which were used to brew the liquor were taken into the custody of the police.
