The water levels of the Nilwala River increased rapidly due to the inclement weather conditions. With the increasing water levels, one of the larger crocodiles that calls the Nilwala river its home entered the Weraduwa area on Sunday
Our correspondent said that the crocodile was seen in the Weraduwa area around 10 p.m. on Sunday. Wildlife officers and the police attempted to catch the animal after reports were filed by residents.
After a long operation, the animal was captured and later released into the Nilwala River.
