Individual arrested by PSD placed in remand custody

An individual who was arrested by the President’s Security Division while allegedly impersonating a journalist, has been remanded until November 17, after he was produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya.

He was arrested at the funeral of late Dr. Pandith Amaradeva, when he approached the President and the Prime Minister with a camera.

The suspect was then taken to the Cinnamon Garden Police for further investigations after being arrested by the Presidential Security.

The Colombo District Magistrate has also ordered for a report to be produced by the Colombo District Judicial Medical Officer to be presented to the court, with regard to the mental health of the  suspect.
