Minister Chandima Weerakkody addressing a media briefing in Parliament stated that President Maithripala Sirisena announced during the Cabinet meeting held today (Nov. 15) that the hike in water utility rates will not be implemented.
Meanwhile, Minister of City Planning and Water Resource Management Rauf Hakeem revealed in Parliament that a three member committee of members will be appointed to reconsider the hike in water utility rates.
