Gammadda enters 100th day: Initiative to flow further towards economically disadvantaged communities

Today, October 27,  marks the 100th day of News 1st’s Gammadda 100 day initiative.

Gammadda, through its 100 day initiative, has embarked on vast numbers of community development projects spanning the length and breadth of Sri Lanka, from the most vulnerable and economically disadvantaged communities living across the country.

Transforming the role of traditional news media, the News 1st Gammadda initiative has seen unprecedented levels of public engagement, transcending the boundaries of race, religion, and social norms.

From constructing bridges, to building roads, to community centrs, library facilities, to providing drinking water facilities, and erecting elephant fences, Gammadda has revolutionised the nexus between news media and the general public.

It was announced on Wednesday evening that a decision has been reached by The Capital Maharaja Organisation to extend the Gammadda campaign, in order to better serve the people of rural Sri Lanka.

Hundreds of thousands of stakeholders have come forward to assist in this endeavour, including members of the general public, with the response being overwhelming. Additionally, corporate, the three armed forces, state institutions, and international organisations have provided assistance by joining hands with Gammadda in order to provide facilities for the dis-empowered people of rural Sri Lanka.
