The Ministry of Health has commenced investigations with regard to allegations that certain doctors at the Welikada Prison Hospital are obtaining bribes.
Secretary of the Ministry Anura Jayawickrama said, the truth about these allegations will be revealed through the investigations.
The Secretary added that a number of complaints were lodged against the said doctors with regard to their actions, from the Department of Prisons.
Jayawickrama said, the complaints have been lodged against certain doctors in connection with hospitalising politicians, and certain other individuals, who are sent to serve prison time, after obtaining bribes.
