Gammadda stamped in the pages Kumbukkanda’s history as library takes shape

Following words are from a Gammadda Programme held in April 2016

“.. I ask the Minister to construct a library for us so that we can read story books ..” said Pasindu Nethmina, a student of the Kumbukkanda Primary School in Akkarakala Wilgamuwa.

The Gammadda Saviya was able to fulfill the request of this little boy.

Kala Kumbukandana is a rural village in the Matale District.

At a Gammadda programme held in the month of April, with objective of providing a solution to the people of Wilgamuwa, Pasindu Nethimina came forward and requested for a library to be constructed at his school.

The foundation stone was laid to construct a fully equipped school library for the Wilgamuwa Akkara Kalakumbukkanda Primary School on Thursday, December 1, bringing a smile to the faces of Pasindu Nethmina and his peers.

The Development Lotteries Board has joined hands to construct this library under the Gammadda Saviya programme.

The ceremony to lay the foundation stone saw the participation of many dignitaries, including the Assistant Manager of Sales of the Development Lotteries Board Asanka Gurusinghe.
