Showery condition in the Eastern part of the country is expected to enhance to a certain extent during next few days.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Eastern and Uva provinces and in the Hambantota district. Showers or thundershowers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts today after 2.00 pm.
Fairly heavy falls (more than 75mm) can be expected at some places, particularly in the Eastern,Uva Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces during the morning.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
During the next 24 hours, the sea area off the coast extending from Galle to Mannar via Colombo and Puttalam can be fairly rough at times as the wind speed can be increased up to 50 kmph.
