Religious observances were held on Sunday, November 27 and Tuesday, November 28, to mark three years since the passing of the renowned educationist R.I.T. Alles.
The late R.I.T. Alles, who commenced his professional career as a teacher, soon became an educationalist of international repute. He rendered a yeoman service to the country’s education sector.
A Dhamma sermon was held at his residence on the night November 27, to mark the third death anniversary, under the patronage of the Anunayake of the Malwatta Chapter, Venerable Niyangoda Vijithasiri Thera.
A group of prominent personalities including politicians and professionals, were present at the occasion. An alms-giving was also held for the Maha Sangha on Monday afternoon.
