The State Minister of Defence expressed views regarding the Ava group that is extorting the people of Jaffna
The State Minister of Defence said that many people are talking about a group called the Ava group and explained that they are a group who intimidate and extort the people in Jaffna – but they are not connected to any political party or the LTTE and they are not controlled by the army either.
“They are just a bike gang that intimidates the people extorts them”, said the State Minister
He added that details regarding the gang has been collected and people are expressing various views to obtain political mileage. He also noted that details have been provided to the police and they are carrying out the required tasks with regard to this matter.
