Ulyukayev “was caught red-handed”, receiving a $2 million bribe on November 14. for giving a favourable assessment of the Rosneft (Oil company) deal, according to Russia’s main anti-corruption body, the Investigative Committee.
Ulyukayev is under investigation for allegedly taking the money in return for his ministry giving a “positive assessment” of state-owned oil giant Rosneft’s $5 billion deal to take control of smaller firm Bashneft, Russia’s Investigative Committee said today, Tuesday, November 15.
