Veteran artist, Dr. Pandith W.D. Amaradewa passed away a short while ago.
According to his relatives the veteran artist passed away while receiving treatment at the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital.
Amaradewa was 88 years old at the time of his demise.
His son, Wimal Amaradewa, speaking to News 1st said Dr. Pandith W.D. Amaradewa was admitted to hospital to under-go an emergency surgery.
