Ampara residents say elephants attacked storage facility

A paddy storage facility belonging to the Paddy Marketing Board in Uhana, Ampara, has been attacked by wild elephants. Residents said that the elephants had attacked the facility on Monday night and early Tuesday morning.

Our correspondents said that the wild elephants had broken the door of the storage facility and eaten a number of sacks of paddy, adding that the storage facility had been attacked by elephants on a number of previous occasions as well.
