President Maithripala Sirisena declared open South Asia’s first and only Green University in Pitipana, Homagama on Wednesday, October 26. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and several MPs and ministers were among those present at the event.
Meanwhile, the 61st Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Press Association was held under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at BMICH in Colombo on Tuesday, October 25.
At the ceremony, senior journalists were awarded “Lifetime Achievement Award – 2016” by the President. A group of journalists from India also graced the event.
