Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya yesterday announced that the island-wide power interruption was stopped since yesterday.
“The second generator of the Norochcholai Lakvijaya Power Plant which was out of commission was expected to be back on track by Thursday. But with the dedication of all officials we were able to do it today (Wednesday). Therefore, we stop the power cut”, he said.
He further added that other two generators are also expected to be back to normal soon.
