A shopping centre in Sarawak apologized after facing public anger for throwing away a huge bowl of laksa (a spicy noodle soup) made with 600kg of ingredients and which broke a Malaysian record for popular street food, according to local media.
Nearly 600kg of food, including prawns and chicken, went into the “Biggest Bowl of Sarawak Laksa”, organised by a mall, Plaza Merdeka.
Social media users slammed the decision to get rid of the food, equivalent to 1,500 regular sized bowls.
The Plaza Merdeka in Kuching cited safety reasons for the move.
