Six inmates of the Dalupotha Correctional Centre for Juvenile offenders in Negombo have escaped.
The Department of Prisons pointed out that there are inmates who are responsible for robberies and other offences housed at the correctional center. Six inmates had escaped last night.
Investigations have revealed that the inmates had escaped owing to the ignorance of the officials at the prison.As a result, the media spokesperson of the Department of Prisons noted that services of three officials have been suspended.
