The Government expects to generate 75% of the power requirement through renewable energy by 2030 under the ‘Vision for Prosperity National Policy Statement. The government expects to call for proposals to set up renewable energy plants with a capacity over 50MW, and to implement them soon, Solar Power, Wind Power and Hydro Power Development State Minister Duminda Dissanayake says.
