The Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) held on August (04), presided over by Hon. Member of Parliament Prof. Tissa Vitarana disclosed that although the mission of the
Department of Probation and Child Care Services is to formulate a national policy to protect the rights of the child and the enactment of relevant laws formulating policies in line with international standards to safeguard the rights, development and protection of orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children in Sri Lanka's social context whilst acting upon a national mechanism in relation to implementation, follow up and evaluation, it has not been completed even in 2021.
