
Sri Lanka’s 72nd National Independence Day celebrations will be held at the Independence Square in Colombo tomorrow in a dignified manner showcasing the proud history of the country.It has been scheduled to commence the National Independence Day celebrations under the theme “A Secured Nation - A Prosperous Country” around 9 am jointly by the Information Department and the Public Administration and Home Affairs Ministry.All arrangements have been made to celebrate the 72nd Independence Day, which will be presided over by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. Parallel to the independence celebration an island-wide tree-planting programme will also be held.
