According to the latest update from the Disaster Management Center , about 5415 persons from 1480 families have been affected due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the country.Four people were reported dead, three of them from the same family in a landslide which occurred due to heavy rains in Walapone, Nuwara Eliya on Saturday. Walapone police said that three of the deceased, G.G Ranbanda (50), K.H Bisomanika (45) and Kalana Pathum (17) are from the same family. Meanwhile, a relative, Dinesha Karunarathna (18) also died in the landslide. The Police was able to recover the missing bodies by yesterday. Steps also have been taken to evacuate three families form the nearby area.However, Steps have been taken to recover the missing body of the 15-year-old child of the same family.
