Training of public officials for presidential election duties has commenced. The Election Commission states that this will be done with the participation of the Returning Officers and deputy and assistant election commissioners covering all 25 districts.The objective is to provide training to carry out election duties in an efficient and accurate manner.District level discussions are also held with security personnel to be deployed at polling stations. The Police Media Spokesman said 60,000 police officers will be deployed to provide security to polling stations islandwide.
