The Department of Railways states that a new intercity express train named the “Denuwara Menike” will be deployed for train travel from November 1st.Railway Superintendent Dilantha Fernando says that the new intercity will travel from Colombo Fort to Badulla by using a new powerset imported from China. The train scheduled to begin its journey at 7:00 am in the morning every day from Colombo Fort is due to travel from Badulla to Fort on the following day.The new intercity consists of a luxury coach and three second class coaches. The superintendent further said that the new train will be added for train operations as part of the first phase of increasing train travel along the upcou
