The Sri Lanka Army Headquarters today ( Wednesday August 21) gave a red carpet welcome to the Army’s newly-appointed 23rd Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc when he arrived at the Army Headquarters to take office amid military honours, ceremonials, greetings and best wishes. He is the first Commander of the Army, produced by the recognized Gajaba Regiment.
