GALLE, Friday - The first cricket Test between Sri Lanka and New Zealand was heading for a classic finish at the Galle International Stadium yesterday after the Black Caps fought back from losing half the side for 98 in their second innings to end the third day on 195 for seven wickets and lead overall by 177 with three wickets in hand.Leading the New Zealand fight back was wicket-keeper/batsman Bradley-John Watling who is unbeaten on a defiant 63 scored off 138 balls with five fours. Watling who has a Test highest of 142 not out against Sri Lanka at Wellington in 2015 built vital partnerships of 26 with Mitchell Santner (12) and 54 with Tim Southee (23) to stall the Lankan spinners from running through the batting.
