Over one million affected by drought conditions – Met Dept forecasts showers on Saturday

Meanwhile, the Met Department forecasts possible afternoon thundershowers in the Eastern, Uva, Northern and North-Central Provinces. It is predicted that  fairly heavy showers (of about 75mm) can be expected at some places in the Uva, North-central and Eastern Provinces.
