MP Dinesh Gunawardena was asked to leave the house for today by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya as the MP disturbed the proceedings of the house.
The Speaker said that this decision was taken under standing order 74(1) and said that he feels sad about Senior MP Dinesh Gunawardena’s behavior in the house.
The decision by speaker Karu Jayasuriya for the request made by MP Wimal Weerawansa and his team to become independent made the house tense.
Speaker Jayasuriya said that his decision cannot be changed by threatening or scaring him. Once the sessions started again there were many debates and the speaker advised the MPs not to behave in an unruly manner. The Speaker also expressed his displeasure regarding the indecent behavior of MP Gunawardena.
