Four Chief Inspectors of Police have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police based on their service and performance on the recommendations of the Inspector General of Police under the approval of National Police Commission with effect from 25th December 2016.
Accordingly, U.P. Senevirathne attached to the Ministerial Security Division, H.G.D.S. Amarasinghe from Colombo North Division, A.J. Gunasekara attached to Field Force Headquarters, and W.H.H.M. Bandara from Nugegoda Division have been promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
