Army built bridge in Neluwaththuduwa vested for public use

The new bridge constructed over the Wak Oya waterway by the Sri Lanka Army was opened for public use on Wednesday (22nd Feb.).

 


According to Army media sources the 55 feet long and 14 feet wide 'Compact 200' bridge was constructed within a short period of 28 days.

 


Construction of the bridge was undertaken upon a request by the Divisional Secretary of Seethawaka. The 1 Field Engineer Regiment under the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) put in their expertise while required raw material worth Rs. 1 million was provided by the state agency towards the completion of the project.

 


The new bridge which replaced an old dilapidated wooden one will now benefit hundreds of families in Kaluaggala and Labugama areas.
