Several spells of light showers are expected today in the Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces.
A few showers are likely in the Northern and North-central provinces and showers or thundershowers will occur in the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in the Galle and Matara district after 02.00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds can be expected in the Southern half of the country.
Misty conditions can be expected in some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.
Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
