Field officers in the postal service were given laptops at a ceremony held last week under the patronage of Minister of Postal Services and Muslim Religious Affairs M.H. Abdul Haleem.
At this ceremony 110 laptops and 250 desktop computers worth Rs 38 million were given.
Minister said that in the old system of accounting used by the Postal services there was no opportunity for cheating and technology being introduced also should protect same.
We are in the last stage of linking the post offices which will enable us to use technology efficiently.
Ministry Secretary D.G.M. Hapuarachchi and other officers also participated.
