A group of university students staged a protest in Colombo.
Students of the University of Visual and Performing Arts took to the streets on Tuesday, December 6 in protest over the 80% compulsory attendance structure.
Students who began their protest march from the Faculty of Visual Arts assembled outside the Ministry of Higher Education to voice their opposition to the 80% compulsory attendance structure.
The protest march inconvenienced the movement of vehicles, where the vehicles were restricted to one lane which caused traffic congestion.
However, following a discussion with Commissioner of the University Grants Commission, the students were dispersed.
