Two people died when a motorcycle was knocked down by a train at the Liyanwala crossing in Padukka.
The accident took place at around 7 last night, when the motorcycle was knocked down by the train plying from Colombo to Avissawella.
The victims were a 49 year old mother of three and a 21 year old youth.
The woman’s body was placed at the Padukka Regional Hospital while the body of the youth is at the Homagama Base Hospital.
