The Lance Corporal who sustained injuries after stones were hurled at the SLTB bus he was travelling in during the private bus strike, was subjected to another surgery on Sunday.
A resident of Nawalapitiya, Lance Corporal G.R. Chandana Shantha Sumanaratne, was based at the Kankesanthurai Army Camp.
He is a 38 year old father of two.
Deputy Director at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital Dr. Avanthi Karunaratne said that the condition of Lance Corporal Shantha Sumanaratne, which remains critical, is being monitored while he is being provided with artificial respiration.
She said that the patient’s head was subjected to a CT scan in order to evaluate the injuries caused to his brain by the attack.
