Gammadda Phase II : Dreams come true for the people of Ahangama

The objective of the Gammadda programme is to reach out to the people who have been deprived of development and basic facilities and uplift their lives.

The aspirations of the people in Ahangama became a reality today under the second phase of the Gammadda 100-days programme. It was under this aim that the renovation of the U. K. G. De Silva road in Kahawathugoda, Ahangama commenced with the assistance of MAS Holdings.

At the event, Director of MAS Holdings Ajay Amalean said that as an organisation and as a family they have come together for development – and that rural development must take place parallel to the protection of the environment. “MAS is pleased to support such a projects that uplift the lives in the village”, he added.

The Director of Finance at MAS Holdings Ruwan Keragala also spoke saying, MAS and News 1st is taking a message to the country and the world which is beyond the sphere of community service and that if one has a proper sense of leadership and responsibility, as Sri Lankans’ we can do anything.

“The Sirasa media has shown that within the previous 100 days”, he added. Furthermore, he noted that they will work together with Gammadda in the current edition of the 100 days programme in order to continue the projects. Group Director at The Capital Maharaja Organisation Limited Eshini Mudalige said, it is the company’s responsibility to ensure that the tasks are done in a secure and a transparent manner.
