President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed to conduct the funeral of the former Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake with state patronage.
When the President heard the news of the death of the former Prime Minister, he coordinated the relevant sections and inquired about the required things to be done for the funeral and further instructed to make all the necessary arrangements for the funeral, President’s Media Division said.
At the time of his death, Wickremanayake was serving as a Senior Advisor to the President.
