Berlin lorry attack kills twelve

Twelve (12) people have been killed after a lorry ploughed into a huge crowd at a festive market in the German capital of Berlin.

The incident which left over 50 people injured and sent a shock-wave through the country has been called an attack as eye-witnesses claim that the truck was travelling at such a speed that it could not be an accident.

A bystander who narrowly missed getting run over says “It was not an accident. It was going 40mph, it was in the middle of the market. There was no way that it could have come off the road and it showed no signs of slowing down.”

The driver of the truck has been arrested although no further details have been released.

Both European and U.S intelligence services seem to have had prior warnings of an attack of this nature as they have specifically warned American travelers to exercise caution at “holiday festivals, events and outdoor markets”.

A UK security source recently said: “The entire continent is vulnerable to attack as we have seen in France, Germany and Belgium but particularly in the run-up to Christmas.” They suspect that the Islamic State (IS) might be targeting these crowded areas during the festive season.
