Angelo Mathews, T.M. Dilshan and Kusal Mendis bagged top honours at the annual Sri Lanka Cricket Awards that took place on the night Wednesday, November 30.
The gala to recognise cricketers – both men and women, umpires, sports journalists and those affiliated with the sports for the year 2015, took place in Battaramulla.
A number of items added colour to the star studded event.
However, women cricketers were not present at the event as they are currently participating at the Asia 20/20 Championships.
Lasith Malinga was adjudged the T-20 Bowler of the Year , while T.M. Dilshan was named T-20 Batsman of the Year.
Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews was named ODI All Rounder of the Year, for his exceptional all round performance in the field.
Lasith Malinga was also named the ODI Bowler of the Year, while former great Kumar Sangakkara was the ODI Batsman of the Year.
Captain Angelo Matthews was also the recipient of the Test All Rounder of the Year award. Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath was named Test Bowler of the Year.
Sri Lanka Vice-Captain Dinesh Chandimal was named Test Cricketer of the Year.Young star Kusal Mendis was named Young Cricketer of the Year.
Minister of Sports Dayasiri Jayasekera, Former Pakistan Great Wasim Akram and Chairman of SLC Thilanga Sumathipala addressed the gathering.
Former captain Tillakaratne Dilshan, was named Peoples’ Player of the Year.
