Chairman of SLTB Ramal Siriwardhane told NEWS.LK that they had deployed 6,100 SLTB buses today to face the ongoing private bus strike.
Usually, about 5,900 SLTB buses are running daily and today more 200 buses were added to facilitate the passengers without curtailing any long distance and short distance bus services, he said.
Further, the SLTB has already informed the region depots to cancel all the leaves of the drivers, conductors, and the mechanics.
He further added that he has written to the IGP asking the police protection for the running SLTB buses. In addition, the police mobile services have also been deployed and the police protection will be provided to the night parking buses.
