The National Food Safety Week will begin today, Monday, November 28.
The Ministry of Health said that the Food Safety Week will be conducted in a manner that covers all medical divisions of the country.
Director General for Health Services, Dr. Palitha Mahipala said that during the week, programmes will be held to educate the people on controlling non-communicable diseases, and preparing food in a healthy and clean manner.
Meanwhile, the Colombo Municipal Council said that inspections will be conducted at food manufacturing companies and food stores in Colombo in line with the National Food Safety Week.
