President Maithripala Sirisena paid his final respects to late actor Wimal Kumara de Costa today.
Wimal Kumara de Costa passed away on Sunday, November 20 while receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Teaching hHospital. He was 68 at the time of his demise.
The remains of the late actor Wimal Kumara De Costa have been placed at a private funeral parlour in Borella for the public to pay their last respects.
A number of artistes as well as political leaders arrived at the location on Tuesday, November 22, to pay their last respects.
Born in the 1948, Wimal Kumara De Costa is an old boy of Gurukula Vidyalaya in Kelaniya.
He rose to stardom through stage dramas. He later displayed exceptional talent and won many hearts with his exceptional acting and the different roles he played in Sinhala films.
According to the relatives, the final rites will take place at the Borella General Cemetery on Wednesday, November 23.
