President left for India

President Maithripala Sirisena arrived at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, yesterday (06) to attend the Seventh Session of the Conference of Parties (COP7) to World Health Organization (WHO) Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) to be held in Delhi, from 7-12 November 2016.


A delegation of the Government of India warmly received the President at the Airport. Officials of the   Sri Lankan High Commission, including High Commissioner to India Chithrangani Wageeshwara were also in attendance.


The summit commences today in New Delhi, under the patronage of the Indian Premier Narendra Modi. President Sirisena will deliver his special speech at the inaugural of the summit itself.


Ministers Rajitha Senarathne and Faizar Mustafa also will participate in this summit.
