There is no construction taking place in the Sri Paada Reserve which consists of 99 acres assured Deputy Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Karunaratna Paranawithana at the weekly cabinet press briefing .
He said that a person has made an application to the Ambagamnuwa Divisional Secretary to renovate a Rest House in a private land named Marewatta. Since he has not obtained the Central Environmental Authority Clearance they have started an inquiry.
Minister said that if the renovation is disturbing the environment be it inside the reserve or not the law of the land will apply.
