Residents of Webada, Kadawatha charge that they have been greatly inconvenienced owing to the odour that is emitted from the pipe borne water they receive.
Our correspondent added that the people of Webada have been facing this problem for about one week. Residents say that authorities are yet to take measures in this regard, despite being informed about the issue.
However, the Water Resources and Drainage Board says necessary steps have been taken to purify the water. Officials say, the odour is due to contamination which has been triggered by rainy weather conditions.
