Cloudy skies and showery conditions are expected to enhance during next few days, particularly in the Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western, Eastern, and Uva provinces due to the influence of an atmospheric disturbance in the Bay of Bengal, which still persists in the Southeast of Sri Lanka.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces and elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.
Heavy falls (about 100mm) can be expected at some places, particularly in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern, Southern and Uva provinces.
Misty conditions are also expected in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Southern Provinces in the morning.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers and public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.
