Ankumbura shooting: T56 recovered – search continues

The T56 riffle used in the shooting in Ankumbura, Kandy, on Sunday, November 20, has been recovered.Police say that the weapon was found from Kabalgastenne.

Police said that an army deserter as well as another individual from Mahiyyaawa who are allegedly behind the shooting are currently in police custody.

Police note that the driver of the vehicle has fled the area, and that an operation is underway to apprehend him.

According to police, the murder was carried out based on a contract given by an individual residing in Dubai.The incident took place on Sunday, when an armed group who arrived by car, opened fire at two individuals, killing one, and injuring another, in Ankumbura, Kandy.
