Post-mortem in Sri Lanka reveals cause of death of domestic worker in Kuwait

Suspicion has arisen following the post-mortem examination of a female Sri Lankan national who was said to have died in a gas explosion in Kuwait.

The cause behind the death of Niluka Nilmini, who travelled to Kuwait for domestic work purposes, was revealed to her relatives on October 4. After the body was brought to the country it was revealed that her organs including her kidneys had been removed.

When the body of the deceased was brought to the country the relatives of the victim informed the police of their suspicions over her death.

Thereby, the Mahawa Magistrate had ordered the Kurunegala Judicial Medical Officer to conduct a post-mortem investigation. Following the Post-Mortem investigations, it was revealed that the death of the woman was caused by a blow to her head.

The final rites of Niluka Nilmini will be conducted on Thursday evening.
