Police officers were killed in an accident that occurred in the Kuruwapokuna area along the Negombo – Ja-Ela main road. Police said that the motorcycle the police officers were riding on collided with another vehicle.
Police said that preliminary investigations have revealed that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. The deceased police officers were attached to the Motor Traffic Unit of the Negombo Police.
